About me
My name is Veronica Victor (she/her). I am originally from the United States and I have lived in Ireland since 2016. I have a B.A. in Social Anthropology from the University of South Florida and an B.Sc. (Hon.) in counseling and psychotherapy from PCI College Ireland.
I started PLUS Psychotherapy because I know firsthand the difficulty of trying to find a queer and/or trans therapist. I strongly believe that it is important for a person to be able to identify with their mental health professionals through similar lived experiences and identities as it can build trust and solidarity.
My therapeutic approach is humanistic and person-centred, as well as feminist, anti-racist, and neuro-affirmative. I approach every client with a deep respect and an appreciation for the complex systems of privilege and oppression that contribute to the work we do. I strongly believe that community care is self-care.
If you would like to work together, you can book a free introductory session.
How to book
The first step for us to get started is booking an introductory session. Introductory sessions are 30 minutes long and completely free.
Our introductory session will be an opportunity to meet and ask any questions we have for each other. I will be interested in what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our work together. I will also explain to you how I work and you will be given time to consider if you would like to move forward.
If we decide to work together, you will be sent a link to a Google Form containing a collaborative working agreement as well a booking link for future sessions.
In order to accommodate varying needs and neurotypes, I offer a traditional 50 minute session, as well as an extended 90 minute session and an abbreviated 30 minute session. You can avail of an extended or abbreviated session at any time. Reduced rates are also available for those experiencing financial hardship.
